  • Help design my cue!

    Hi there,

The following links show some colour options for the cue I've ordered. I have the choice of colour of veneer and badge. I've done mock-up images of five different combinations.

The cue has Thuya burr front splice over two white and one coloured veneers. It has ebony hand splicing. Note that my cue will be two piece rather than the 3/4 jointed one in the images, and will have a single splice whereas the image shows four splices.

I thought I'd canvass opinion from the experts on this forum as to which they find most pleasing!

    1. White badge Black inlay
    2. Black badge Black inlay
    3. White badge Blue inlay
    4. Black badge Blue inlay
    5. Blue badge Blue inlay

I'll leave the poll running a couple of days and see what you think. I've particularly interested in hearing from all you professional cue makers!

If the poll doesn't work properly, please just add a reply with a number or PM me.

Yes sorry about that, the image hosting site appears to be temporarily down. Perhaps it's on the same server as thesnookerforum.com

I'm going to close the poll anyway (if I can work out how to) as due to a small misunderstanding on my part, it's unlikely that it will now be any of the above, but closest to number 2.

I'll post pictures of the cue when it is made. Thanks to all that voted!

Your buying a beautiful hand made cue made to your own spec presumably intending to keep it for many years to come and maybe even pass down to your kids and your concerned about the colour of the makers label plastered over the butt ?

I'd ask them how much they going to pay me for the advertising, or for a discount.

I think a discount is out of the question, and as the kids have already had the shirt off my back they're not having my snooker cue

Hahahah, Of course you'd get you a discount off it, might only be the cost of the enamel badge about 75p though. Not enough for a shirt I'm afraid.

Thanks to all that voted. I've taken the images down now.

I went for number two, which has a similar design to those on the Parris website (Edition 5) and Hand Made Cues.

Craftsman Cues are making it for me, and have been total gents. It is great to be able to pick up the phone and talk to the person who will make your cue and ask advice and about what you want, and for only "a hundred and not much" pounds.

Have to twiddle my thumbs for 5 weeks now till it arrives...

Yeah craftman are good value (as I've said many times before)!
I was considering getting one from there before I started talking to Trevor White!
My mate has a Craftsman and he's got the second best cue on the team after me!
Having said that I paid more than £100 more than him!
But his is nicer than all of the other handmade cues we've got on the team and cheaper than most!
