How often do you use linseed oil?

You shouldn't really need to apply any oil for at least 3 months or more but the wood will only take what it needs.
As a side note any wood once it is sealed with an oil finish or lacquer shouldn't really need any more applying to it unless the seal is opened, in the case of wood when the finish has been removed or sanded. Continually adding linseed oil or any other oil/wax isn't really going to get into the wood or actually do anything to it as there is a seal already there protecting the wood!

I wouldn't oil or wax too often!
I only oiled my cue every 6 months!
I waxed it once about 6 months ago and didn't think it needed doing since!
If you've waxed it without oiling I would just leave it for a few months and see how you find it, feed the wood next time!
I have been told not to bother waxing my new cue and just oil it every blue moon!
So I will be doing this, but I was happy with the beeswax finish of my old cue and craftsman sell wax so there's probably some differece of opinion on all this!

foolish of me to use purified linseed oil, now I understand why my cue is forever sticky even after days of use and buffing with a dry cloth.... Would raw linseed oil be better?
Another Q is there are still a bit of ash in between those splices. Is it ok to apply linseed oil onto those areas, including the ebony? I am concern that the oil might seep and disturb the glue holding the ash and ebony splices -_-
Currently I am playing it safe by leaving them alone!
