  • Changing cues frequently

I can understand why some people would want to change cues fairly frequently, especially if you're upgrading to a nice, hand made cue, or radically changing the spec etc...

But do some people think the next cue will be "The one", which will improve their play?

I really wish I still had the old one-piece E.J. Riley cue I used to play with, as it always felt 'right'. Unfortunately I sold that a few years ago in a clearout, and I didn't think i'd be playing again

Or are you just a cue hoarder/collector?

I know where your coming from, i had an old bce marco fu in my youth that i regretted selling ever since, though my current gbl could certainly be the one, I've taken to it like a duck to water, though who knows what the future holds i am quite fickle...

according to my wife i change my cue more than my keks but only because when i did find "the one" i leant it to a mate to play a match while his was being repaired and he crashed his car on the way home and it got snapped so im constantly searching for another "the one"

I just love cues. Cant hit a ball to save my life. I love the game though. I'm always looking for the next cue. Not because I think it will make me play better but because I like the workmanship and to me they are a work of art. The different shafts, stiff , whippy, etc. The different exotic woods. My favorite though is always the traditional ash and ebony 3/4 cue. If I could afford it , I would have a cue from all the major cue builders, just to look at and admire. Some people will say again, more mony than brains, but then again, people collect beer cans, Picassos, or lawnmowers

I've had 12 cues over the last year! and it can get addictive, but I've now got a good idea of the sort of spec that suits me best, only got 3 cues left cues now , till I get my JPU later this year :snooker:
