  • John Parris Ultimate cue on ebay - Warning proceed with caution !!

Yesterday I bought this cue on ebay using the buy-it-now option and paid instantly, and moments afterwards the person told me that they had a lot of interest, and that they were refusing to send me the cue, as someone was going to pay them £100 more for it on Monday.

I warned them that I would give them negative feedback if they refused to send the cue. This person had a new account, no apparent feedback and delayed paying back my money until I finally threaten to inform ebay later today.

I suspect this person may have been trying to collect money from doing deals outside of ebay from other potential customers, and hence could be a scam?

Today this person despite claiming they knew nothing about ebay or giving refunds etc, opened another account with ebay just 24 hours later, and is advertising the same cue again under another name with zero feedback?

If you are interested in buying the cue outside of ebay, then my advice is to proceed with caution !!

I reckon the cue is genuine, it's just that she now realises it's true value so backed out.
Unlucky for you mate, £300 was a great buy ehh

Hi mate, yes you maybe right, and I'm a bit miffed with the situation especially as I thought I'd picked up a real bargain...but it still smells a bit fishy to me.
When I paid "Jessie" on the first account/username it went to a guy called "Ricky" ?...and to open 2 new ebay accounts in just 2 days is a bit suspicious !

Not sure how it could be a scam except to caution against deals outside of ebay without any guarantees. I think any potential buyers should consider cash on collection, paypal via ebay or credit card protection if they intend to purchase.

      Good luck

happens all the time, have bought several things on ebay and then received either fakes or junk and when you complain or leave negative feedback, change of username and email address and there are away selling again, they should honour the deal its meant to be a contract but unfortunately nothing you can do and ebay don't care as long as they get their fees off seller

I would never buy anything from anyone on ebay with such a low feedback score.

It's a shame that ebay make it is so easy for scam artists.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and using paypal as you have to, you at least know you will get paid back if it goes pear shaped

I'd stay clear of this description says its barely used yet the blue chalk marks just below the ferrel suggest a fair amount of usage also the ferrel has gone dull suggesting again that its a fairly old cue Also only £5 postage seems very strange to me

The postage in the original advert was only £2.99.

Have a book at the bid history . . .

                        s***s( -1 ) bid 450 pounds and then 470 pounds.

I wonder if this is the original sellers ebay account? jessiecarose93( -1 ) ?

                        Shill bidding?

Call me suspicious, but I am NOT going to bid on that cue.

Maybe EZ (who originally 'bought' the cue but never received it) should report it to ebay.

Seems quite clear to me some cheating even during auctions. Think it would be right to report, but will be hard to ban those guys from e-bay. Looks like they've already opened many accounts... So, just 'KEEP CAUTION'!!!
