Hi guys I have found a 1 piece all ash cue that is American pool spec (so it is super chunky) but it has the most amazing shaft I have ever seen and I've owned cues from all the top makers. It has perfect spaced arrows and straight tight side grain. Now my question is can this cue be tapered down to snooker spec (57.5 9.5 18oz), have ebony splices added, weighted, extension for butt joint added, ferrule fitted etc etc? I'm guessing the answer to that question will be yes but the more important question is what would the cost be? Also would a cuemaker fit his badge or just a customised badge? Any advice or prices would be appreciated?

Question for the cue makers
if it is a big change from a chunky US pool cue down to snooker cue specs then possibly it could be classed as a cue from a tapered dowel
Rob any piccies - before and after
Recently sent a pool team mate's standard Peradon cue to AndyT for a trim down for UK pool and it has come back beautiful and my mate is over the moon with itLast edited by DeanH; 15 June 2013, 09:39 PM.Up the TSF! :snooker:

I will get some photos on tomorrow as I'm not at home at the moment, but rest assured the shaft looks absolutely top notch it just needs a good cue made from it with a nice finish but I'm hoping we are not talking about spending as much as a new cue would cost and if we are then I would want their badge on it77 in a match, 97 in a line up

a cue maker and good ash is usualy an extra cost, it is the labour you are mostly paying for !
where about are you anyway ? there must be someone local to you that would give you a price and time scale ?

I'm in northampton and sadly there are no active cue makers here anymore so the closest people are tony glover or robin cook but I am tempted to try a new cue maker as I have tried most already and I always like to see different people's work. Might have to send some emails out once I have got some photos and taken all its measurements then see what it would cost from a few different makers77 in a match, 97 in a line up
