Fairly new player, looking for a decent cue to practise with

      Thanks for the offer jack, what I've done today is removed the weight from one of my cues and taken the lacquer off. I'm pretty sure it's still not going to work well for me, but I'll give it a try tonight and see how it goes.

      The size of the tip puts me off a little, as I struggle to shoot straight as it is, but other than that your cue sounds great so I may well take you up on that.

        Thanks mate, I'd let it go to them if you're happy. My cue is feeling much better now I've taken away the lacquer, so I'm going to practise with it for a while and get my skill up before I buy another. Still not quite shooting right but I think that's my fault more than the cue's now.

        Maybe if I can find somewhere to test out a load of different cues as you suggested, I can find what kind of weight/size I should be looking at .
