Making a cue

What woods do B&Q sell that will be good for a cue?

Can't imagine B&Q selling anything suitable for cues !!
Ideally you need ash for the shaft and ebony or rosewood for the butt, but might be best to start with cheaper woods just to practice with

I was thinking of starting with a cheaper wood but I think I will go with Ash and Rosewood. I want my first cue to be memorable.
