I don't know as much as trevs1 but I have definitely been under whelmed by some of the Parris cues I’ve seen!
I’ve played with an ambassador, a champion, and a special.
The ambassador (a mates) is a nice player but this one isn’t very pleasing on the eye. The ash doesn’t have straight arrows or straight line grain, this puts me off!
The champion (another friends) is a nice looking and playing cue, well worth the money.
The special was a second hand cue at craftsman. For what would have been a £300+ custom made cue it was terrible. The tops of the splices were uneven by about half an inch and it played like a broomhandle. That’s what made me decide I wasn’t going to get a Parris.
I suppose one thing with Parris now is that the company will be making a lot of cues; with lots of different people doing the work. This is could explain some of the differences in quality.
Certainly the Parris’ I’ve seen don’t live up to my Mast Cue (Trevor White) or some of the other custom cue maker’s work I’ve seen!
And I did quite a lot of looking before getting my cue!
