Want to know more about old cue

Hi...

Tsf members here, how does the old cue color shafts looks like? Is it something golden ash or honey ash colors? I have seen many golden ash color and they are very durable, Lets talk about the "feel" first, I heard an old cue are more durable on your bridge even you have a sweaty palms with you.

Edit: and then talk about the "hits" mostly I found that old cues are very stiff to me, correct me if I'm wrong, thank you...

Tony Clover ?? You mean Glover?? Tony Glover is possibly the undisputed master of replica cues.

Some old cues are very whippy, some are not. Depends on the cue. Some are just for collecting rather than playing with. Just because it is old does not mean it is a 'good' playing cue.

There are plenty of crap old cues around. Some are bent like a banana and some are in good condition.

It is like finding a good old car. There are many that have been treated badly and some that 'have been driven by one old lady' (who used it for rally driving).

No problem . . . my main point was that an old cue does not mean that it is a good player, but you can be lucky!

also keep in mind that an old cue with a golden honey colour could be because it hang in a club for years with all the cigarette/cigar smoke and became nicotine stained

Point A and B are both bull****

Point A - Honey colored/golden brown whatever you call it..........few reasons, years of linseed oil over time causes it to yellow and as mentioned before leaving the cue in smoke filled environment

Point B - Old is gold.........not always true, plus if you have sweaty palms, adding grime and chalk dust on the shaft...how would it feel over time?

true that and totally agree with you, to me: Important is "the feel of the shaft must be durable lays on your firm bridge even you have sweaty palm with you and "the hits not too stiff and not too whippy" medium hit should be just ok...

Very hard to find a cue that's suits you

IT IS A MASTER CUE THAILAND, 147 series, the shaft is very durable even you have your hand sweat or dirty but the hits is very stiff, HAIZ.....

reminds me the first old John parris ultimate without number, the shaft is durable and very stiff......
