Have I been ripped off? ('STAR' cue)

Hi guys, this is my first post, I've been playing snooker for a couple of years now and thought it was about time I upgraded my BCE O'sullivan signed 2-piece for something of a bit more quality and wanted to try a 3/4 type anyway. So I went to my nearest snooker shop and they had quite a few cues to try out on a pool table, my budget was £80 which I guess isn't particularly big in this game but nevertheless I found a cue which felt pretty good at the time, nice and smooth, option to add a butt extension. Got home to find some info on it and cannot find it anywhere! The chap said it was hand spliced in china which brings the price down from one spliced in UK. Just a bit concerned that the brand doesn't have it's own website. The brand is 'STAR' and says professional hand crafted cue. Does anyone know anything about these cues? Have I been ripped off? Or am I just worrying over nothing because 80 quid just isn't very steep I this sport!
