well i own an alleged thai cue from one of the alleged sellers, and i can honestly say it's far superior to anything i have played with.
just a bit guttering that i payed over the odds for it!

One person has come to me, I confirmed it was one of the Thai cues. They had sold it 3 months ago for £40 less than they paid me for it at the time. They now want me to refund them the difference, which won't happen.
I've confirmed others to people and they have been fine and want to keep the cue as its so good.
So you will never know unless you own one in which I will honestly tel
      You.

Oh my one, is no 85, and I wouldn't sell it ever.

I have had a lot of support from people who have orders placed, have had cues and from friends.
Honesty has been the best policy without doubt.

Deal me out now, concentrate on who really is the problem here.
Still not being honest as you won't reveal the numbers, so if one of them comes up for sale, someone could be paying a premium price for a Thai cue thinking you made it for the 2nd time

It does matter Neil. If that cue maker is getting Thai cues imported and then just re-badging them as his own 100% HANDMADE cue, then that is totally not on. Fraud. Will this cue maker carry mis-selling cues to the unsuspecting public and getting away with it? The other thing he's done is another story. See you on Thursday Neil.

I think it's only Crispian that states that, the rest certainly do not
It does matter Neil, when the fraudsters charge £400 (or over) for the same cues that Crispian charges £240 for !!!
I think maybe it's about time the maker in question was named ???

          • I have read every post in this thread and the other thread that was closed and this is my own personal view. I have bought many cues over the last couple of years and as I live near GBL always take my cues to Stu for new tips. On two occasions Stu looked at the cue that I had asked him to retip and told me that in his opinion it was a Thai cue. He held each of the cues next to a GBL cue and the splice fingers were identical and I mean absolutely identical. Stu has GBL cues, Maximus cues and Master cues, all Thai cues and all have slightly differing splicing but once you know what you are looking for it is quite easy to identify which Thai cue is which. My cues were badged as UK made cues!!
I have to say, also my very own opinion, that nearly all of these Thai cues are absolutely stunning in cue build and materials. The ash or maple is literally as good as its possible to get. Anyone who wants an ash shaft with dead straight side grain and a certain number of chevrons is pretty much guaranteed to find one at either Greenbaize or Crafstman cues as Dave and Simon also have some stunning Thai cues, Phoenix and Maximus to name two.
I was always pretty 'OCD' when it came to cue build, and if I ordered a handmade cue then when it arrived I was disappointed if the splicing was not absolutely perfect BUT nearly all of today's Thai cues have splicing that it is just impossible to beat.
So, if anyone is after a new cue to absolutely exact specifications this is my advice, choose the best and nearest Thai cue to your exact specification and then ask one of our best cue makers (and in the UK we are lucky enough to have plenty) to slightly alter the cue if you want slightly different balance, weight, tip size etc and you then have the option of a 'customised' badge!! • I agree with oldgit.....there cannot be any issues with the cues because they are some of the best you will find, its just people don't take to kindly to paying probably 150-200 over the odds....

                • And totally agree with an earlier sentiment,Jasons cues have now been changed from hand-made(lie),to custom(totally ambiguous, and almost deliberately misleading),has got to be 'customised' or some dumb schmuck like me will buy something that is NOT what they want.
