I've made a few private builds for customers, I'm a luthier by trade but am really enjoying making cues as hobby/job, the one on the bench is nearing completion, it's for a local league player, purpleheart butt with ebony and maple splices.

and here's some shots of the build process ...

just needs some more coats of oil and a tip the onto the next order

excuse my ignorance but I had to Google what a "luthier" is ...

now I know, I can see why you have such a stunning eye for detail even down to the beautifully taken photos above of your work in progress ...

I hope you enjoy your new workshop

Thanks for all the kind comments chaps, very much appreciated ... here's a few shots of my latest cue approaching completion, it's a customer order hence the mother of pearl inlay above my badge.

                                Hope you like.
Ash shaft, but you already knew that

The butt is a harder one to guess, it's South American Iron Wood reclaimed from an old mill floor in Downpatrick, County Down +200 years old, very hard, hardest wood I've ever hand planed, felt like I was planning glass but beautiful deep brown colour once oiled up, it was worth the effort although my hand planes might say otherwise could they talk!
