  • In my defence, I did contact a couple of long term members on here before ordering and both were extremely happy with their cues, both saying they played well, were well made and fantastic value for money. Unclevit has been a member here for over 5 years and sold a fair amount of cues, and during that time I don't think anyone has been left empty handed up till now. I'm not saying everyone was over the moon with their cue, but you can probably say that of virtually any cue maker/supplier, everyone has the odd problem, just look at the recent posts about the JPU which would of cost several times that of an Unclevit cue. With hindsight its not the best decision I've ever made but I didn't feel at the time that I had any reason to be unduly worried about placing an order.

    • Is this guy not having health problems? I don't think that makes him a cowboy all of a sudden, he probably has more important things to worry about.

You must of missed the above poster as he agreed too, anyway my opinion is simple there are far better cues IMHO for the same price which are just as good quality if not better and you will receive a much better service guaranteed, I'm sure this chap is a good cuemaker but for me i wouldn't waste my time with him as it seems more bother then it's worth.
Hope he gets better though if he is ill which obviously don't help the service

        • Yes I have seen that he has had health problems and I also wish him well, but this appear to have happened recently and many cues were several months behind schedule before this happened. Also I don't think he actually makes the cues himself, he is a cue dealer so his health shouldn't really affect the cues being made too much, although it would probably affect the cues getting shipped etc. Leo, its easy to say that now but at the start of the year when we placed orders there was no signs to make us think that any problems would arise, Unclevit was very active on the forum, and as I said members had just received cues they were very happy with and there was no reason to think our orders wouldn't go the same way.

Which cues are just as good then for the price?

Even though I'm waiting for a cue, I would say from what I have seen in the past his cues for the price range are right up there if not the best in his range, I admit it's only from what I have seen and read on here though. The rest of the post is fair enough though.

yes, it's plain ebony butt. but one thing I have to say, the ebony is not real black, it's been dyeing in black.
when I sand off the butt's coating, it shown some yellow texture inside, the black material smells bad, definitely it's not the original wood smell.
okey ,, many thx for the rplay ,,, As for ebony : if the cue is finished in oil. then it is possible that he gives Sum black color off ( when you make it clean). that is normal. but not yellow stuff !!! ebony is black (outside and inside). sorry to hear that. but I'm glad anyway that the cue suits your game and play well !!!

I like Mike's butt design, so I sand the flat section to make it more smooth, that's suitable for hand.
after oil finish, the ebony go black deeper.
cue is good for playing, even it's looks not good.

                  • Looks ok but I suppose it depends on how much you paid. Was this an unbadged one?

yes, I request unbadged, like Ding, hahaha~~~

price is reasonable, so I don't mind that flaw.

                      • The splicing looks quite good from what I can see, if that's it rubbed right back its not bad, it's ebony but just has little flaws in it, wouldn't bother me if it plays well and the specs were accurate for the price charged.

Nice one mate. I think Maple and plain ebony is really classy.
