Can anyone put a cuemaker to this cue?

I think I have nailed it down to a Dufferin Cue. Does anyone know a website that would list the old Dufferin cues?

Were they going that long ago? My thought is possibly a Dufferin cue but really I think its near impossible to identify this. Machine spliced cues are so common, many factories producing stuff like this back in the early 80's, looks most like a riley IMO. Looks like a typical sports shop cue type cue.

I actually was able to get a hold of the guy I bought it from. He ran a business out of his house. My cue is a Riley Ultima. I think it is a pretty good cue. It would be nice if it had a emblem like most other cues.

My first cue was a two piece Dufferin pool cue. Heavy and a good hitter!

not that I have any old Riley stock sheets but I wonder if this Ultima model was just sold in North America, or was available in uK as well? Just a small thought, not a biggie

Yes and I am sure they are nothing like the old ones. Mine is still perfect after 30 years.

Could this be connected with the legal dispute between Riley and BCE over the use of the "Adam" logo? As I understand, in 1982 Riley's started importing these cues from Japan, but were not allowed to use the logo due to an exitisting arrangement for the "Adam" cues being manufactured at Telford by Askrod, a BCE subsidiary.

Interesting. Thus the reason my cue has nothing on it at all. I have cues that have come with old tables I have bought fixed up and sold and almost every cue has some kind if writing on it somewhere.

I have a Riley Prestige made for Riley by Dufferin in Canada . The cue is " hard rock " maple , wood to wood jointed and uses the same joint as your cue.It does not have the quad lower splices of your cue , but I suspect that your cue is a Dufferin made Riley and is of good quality.Mine is still straight and hits the ball well , hope this helps.

Yes I found out on the weekend that mine was also made by Dufferin for Riley. I ordered a F1 Telescopic extension from Mike Wouldridge for it and a joint which should be in this week. Heading out now to look at an old 6x12 Burroughs and Watts table to Replace my 5x10 Brunswick Table.
