Kevin De Roo Cues

His Radial splice concept sounds very interesting and I believe he has been using plastic ferules for many years.

I'm surprised someone from Australia thinks Vancouver would be in my area! It's actually around 3,000 miles away from me on the west coast of Canada (I live in southern Ontario more in the centre of the country).

The only DeRoo cue I've owned I ordered in 2005 as a custom however I found the cue a bit too whippy and sold it on to a guy in Montreal. He did butterfly splices (just 2 splices) at that time and I've also been told he uses CNC to make his basic cues and then hand finishes them. I know he charges a ton for them and sell a lot of them in the far east.

i've had about a dozen and they were all top notch,had ash 1pc, maple 1pc,radial splice 2pc,i would get them made for myself and end up selling them,some of the best old growth maple you could find(i havent encountered to many maple q i liked but his are rock solid)
they are pretty consistant from cue to cue, he's a 1 man shop, i find the quality of his wood is better than most,denser
my playerof 14yrs is 1 pc ash ebony snakewood splices the finish is still perfect

Kevin Deroo is a personal friend that lives not too far from me so I'm saying this with a lot of bias. Yes, the cues are being sold in China as are all other great cue makers. Yes, his old growth maple and ash is top class. The old saying that "you get what you pay for" is actually true. Kevin's knowledge and treatment of wood is remarkable. I have personally seen Kevin's workshop and have played at his home snooker table many times. He has an intricate drying process and really gives the wood time to season and cure. A few years ago, I had Kevin make me a shaft and he showed me a selection of blanks which were more than 10 years old. When it comes to shaft flex, he knows it far better than anyone else I have met. I haven't ever seen any other cue maker's shop or spent time with one, so maybe I'm just over-glorifying a standard process but I do believe he knows his stuff.

You won't go wrong with a KD cue.

Hey LB. I imagine his best market would be China, that's where the big bucks are.
I dare say people wanting to undermine him would say his shafts are made in China, he should come out and comment on this.
I am aware of one Aussie resident that has paid $2k for one of cues, delivery 2014.
I am hoping to see it !!
