          That crack in the butt can be repaired using 'Hot Stuff' (or 'Chair Doctor') adhesive from Lee Valley Tools. It will expand and seal the wood and then all you need to do is gently sand down any difference between the sides of the crack and refinish the butt.

          My playing cue is a MikeW and a 6" long 1/16" crack developed in the ebony on the butt which went down into the first veneer. I have now completely sealed the crack and refinished the butt and you need a magnifying glass to see the crack and I can't feel it at all. It's come out perfect (although if I ever decide to sell it on, which is doubtful, I would have to tell the buyer).
