Wats the most popular wood for splicing and veneer

I would say thin maple veneer and a burr (or burl(samething)) front splice; usually Thuya, Amboyna, and such like
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

my pool cue: with thin maple and thuya front splice, bought from ADR at the time of the post. The mini butt is the same karelian birch that my snooker cue has as front splice

Definitely the maple and burr... Classy design.

I've heard that all the greatest cuemen always pick that design

Wats most popular splicing and veneer

I had a maple veneer with Asian snakewood which went together very well... I said had as it's now away getting respliced with birds eye, which could look nice as a single splice and a coloured veneer...
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

+1 on that, curly maple with burrs are my favourite.

Can you do a search on here by the woods name ,Stevie, this could give you an idea of what it looks like on a cue.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
