After being told they are NOT genuine, it's then up to the buyer to decide if he wants it or not, nobody can make you buy a cue !!!!

By setting out to badge the cues with discs of top cue makers, these cues will give anyone trying them an impression of

the quality of these cuemakers, that will be well below what they actually produce. IMHO of course.

I suspect Tommo will still like the JP though.

is it not the badge people are buying anyway, they bid on a cue with no idea if is going to be anygood for them or not, all cue makers use the same materials, yes some say I have had this piece of timber maturing for 900 years but ultimately people pay for the name which is why certain cue makers sell for £100s of pounds and equally good craftsman sell for considerably less, I cant imagine that john parris makes al his own cues so really maybe his bage should say tom dick and harry traditional or ultimate. again not saying parris isn't a good cue maker just know from personell experience that the few I have tried have not been as suitable for me as others by people like dave brown, Robert Osborne or even an old riley machine spliced catalogue cue I had

LOL, I know you can sir. That's why I / we use the wink smilie , which indicates that I'm not seriously suggesting

              what I've said.

The written word ( at least in my hands ) is quite constrictive in it's ability to allow people to show humour , so this helps differentiate between

factual statements, and the afore-mentioned ( attempt at ) humour.

The fact that the smilie wasn't recognised by yourself does not make me an idiot , or a moron.

No offence was either implied, or intended.

Have a nice weekend now. :snooker:

Shouldn't that be "you too moron" ?

Oh, and with regards to me being both a moron AND an idiot in the same post, I leave you with the extract below :-

"Moron" was coined in 1910 by psychologist Henry H. Goddard[3] from the Ancient Greek word μωρός (moros), which meant "dull"[4] (as opposed to oxy, which meant "sharp" (see also: oxymoron)), and used to describe a person with a mental age in adulthood of between 8 and 12 on the Binet scale.[5] It was once applied to people with an IQ of 51–70, being superior in one degree to "imbecile" (IQ of 26–50) and superior in two degrees to "idiot" (IQ of 0–25).

Difficult to see how I could be both, and the last time I took the test, I was scoring 134.

Still wish you a pleasant weekend.

Am i right in thinking that Tommo's very stiff shafted JP he recently bought, that only John Parris can produce a cue as stiff is in fact a fake?

i see the forum is holding true to it's recent form.

don't people want to just get on with each other any more?

as for the badges, gotta be shady practise by anyone's standards. making them in the first place can only lead to misrepresentation at some point.

I have thought the same especially with the the same debate spilling out in to three separate threads needlessly. The saving grace though is that each one of these chaps involved in the bickering are individually good lads.
