Sometimes its all done out of fun and a mans need to have a bit of banter with the lads. Unfortunately humour via the written message doesn't always work, as was stated above. I quite like the thought of being a moron. Means I'm in good company

Yeah, it was only meant as a bit of light humour. Guess it's best to know the person you mention better,
before making comment. I didn't think it would be taken as offensive.
Maverick on the other hand . . . now there's a complete . . sorry . I'm away again LOL
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins. I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
The list above is not a true representation of usernames mythman. My eBay username is 16 characters long but in the above case, would only show as (example) f***e. Unfortunately, I think the buyers are untraceable apart from maybe their feedback score!

And to state the obvious, I think we all need to be on our guard for fake cues coming our way in the very near future. Let's hope the sellers are stupid enough to list any such cues on eBay! At least we can see that they bought badges seperatley. If they sell on TSF and only TSF, it will be down to our experts on here to weed the fakes out. Judging by the low standard of the badges, I should think it won't be too difficult!!!! Hopefully.

as for the badges, gotta be shady practise by anyone's standards. making them in the first place can only lead to misrepresentation at some point.
Personally I don't see the difference between a UK cue maker putting genuine badges on imported asian cues and a middle man on ebay putting fake badges on imported asian cues.
As Jack Douglas says, people are only buying the badge anyway and are willing to fork out £700 or so for something that doesn't work for them because they are expecting a certain makers cue to transform them into the player they will never be.
Simply go straight to the man who makes the badges and cut out the makers and the middle men altogther and transform your cue for a fiver.
You may need Derren Brown to convince you that it's genuine to get that placebo effect; now there's a thought for any budding hypnotherapists with a pillar drill and bag of fake badges, cut out all the coaches too, has to be a winner.

The two are separate issues and are not similar in my mind. The issue of how cuemakers personally badge and describe their products has been well covered here and needs no further exploration. This is not the matter being discussed here.
The badge is the cuemaker's personal seal of approval and it is theirs to place on items at their discretion that match the standards of quality they deem fit for their brand. For an unauthorised party to place that seal of approval on any product is wrong, immoral and misleading.
If I was to become a user on another forum assuming the username 'vmax4steve' with an identical avatar image and started to dish out coaching advice that was of poorer quality and not developmentally sound this would have an affect on your reputation and you could rightly feel aggrieved that you were being misrepresented.

They'll be sold on to people who no better as genuine at some point, these things always are.
