    • This is a bargain for someone surely.

With an rrp of £299.99 we are virtually stealing it from the seller.Im sure the £25 postage is there to make sure this is insured well postage wise.

      • It is not just ebay where you can get good bargains.

Check out this cue for only $1000.

                  • Anyone seen this?

Antique 1700's John Snooke Billiard MACE Pool Table Ball Cue

                    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-1700...item4619c4bd7f

                    US$4,000.00

"Antique mid to late 1700's Billiard Mace. Inscribed with a prior owner's name, John Snooke. In 1830, Francois Mingand invented the pool cue tip, but prior to 1830 all billiard balls were pushed and pulled around the billiard table using a mace. This particular mace was purchased from Sothebys in England. Strikingly similar to maces shown in the Billiard Encyclopedia at the Weingarten museum....It has the provenance of the prior owners inscription on the rosewood. Could he possibly be the originator of the game Snooker? Extremely rare, once in a lifetime offering."

Now there's a thing! Many years ago I used to write an auction report for the Amateur Billiard Player magazine and the subject of one such report was this very item, which sold at Sotherby's in 1999 for £4,700 (including buyer's premium). Despite the hype, its still an extremely rare thing. I wonder if it will prove a good investment?

                          • Just spotted that this is a "buy it now" item, so at a price of about £2,400 the answer to my question is that it's not been a particularly good investment. I wonder if this price will be?

Think I will get him to do my listings, he managed to sell stuff on eBay for 75% more than what they cost in the shops.
