Hi all gentlemen, may be a stupid question I'm asking , but I really like to know how to determine a John Parris cue red glue model or not ? Please post pictures if necessary, thank you.
The 'red glue' is the result of John Parris personally taking a cue to bed with him for the night and is believed to come from the dye of his red silk pyjamas
I can't help but feel that the 'red glue' is a bit of a 'red herring' as people seem to believe it is a sign of Mr Parris' very own craft but it doesn't guarantee anything at all and only aids the approximation of the age of the cue which itself could span 20 years of red glue use.
There are many other factors you should look for first before buying a John Parris or any other makers cue.

Hi stupree, that's a good one. I believe trying is the best way to look for a right cue if you can, right ?

Absolutely. And laughable that people state cues must be genuine as they're "red glue models" as if our friends in China haven't noticed this?..
