Hey Jim hope all is well. Have done anything new on the cue front recently ? I always keep and eye out but not seen anything for a while, perhaps u have been busy with work and that. Hope to see some more of your work soon and probably not the only one.
Ditto that. Hope everything is good with you. Still loving my cue.
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
Thanks chaps ... yea sorry I haven't been posting lately but you guessed it right, normal day job has been keeping me busy, then life creeps in a demands some of my time as well, we all know how that goes but as time allows I've been working away on cues and repairs, I didn't release or appreciate how many local cue repairs land on the doorstep once word gets around that there's a cue builder in your area lol.
Anyways here's a couple o' customer cues I finished just before Christmas.
This one is a bit different in that the shaft was Birdseye Maple with the figuring running the fully length of the cue, photos don't really do it justice, viewed physically the Birdeyes are very 3D and look like water drops on the wood.
And this one is a blend of Ebony and Pale Moon Ebony.
Currently working on Fred's.
Oh yea ... Happy New Year
Beautiful cues and great worksmanship Jim. Could you kindly elaborate a little of your thoughts on how different birds eye maple plays against a normal maple please? Its quite interesting to see such a cue. Thanks and cheers mate.

Just plays and feels the same as plain maple to be honest, it's mostly a visual thing.
Birdseye Maple is not rare but it's not always available in longer lengths without paying premiums for a full figured plank from the wood merchant, I got lucky with this plank when I bought it, rough cut it didn't look as though there was much going on so a nice surprise to get this shaft.
