for me its obvious, .2mm is significant enough and you would feel the diff, what ever the taper flared or straight

No way can you notice that small a difference

you can appreciate that for someone who's practiced for years to reach a good level of play, and learned how to use a many sticks.I would notice! But i'm sure, in many other sensitive hands they to would feel the diff

Don't let your mind play tricks....There is no way you can feel a difference between 30 and 29.8mm...You might feel it different if the two butts are made out of different woods for example...but surely not from the thickness itself.
