I like it when they put a badge on the mini butt, I know Andy Travis does this sometimes, it adds a certain something to the package. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

i do like the plain ebony as i think it looks classy very understated, i do believe less is more when it comes to cues which i why i wanted a single piece of padauk.

I agree , I didn't like the fancy cues, it was plain ebony for me, but I have come round to ebony with a maple veneer and a single splice of something nice, I think this can look understated and classy as well .This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

The surprising thing is a wood may look garish on it's own but add it to a cue with a single veneer it looks gorgeous, i love how red the padauk looks on mine especially after its been cleaned

Luke, in all honesty I had never heard of the majority of the woods used in splicing up the cues I see on here, but like you I think when polished up and presented nicely on a quality cue it can look like a piece of art,to me anyway. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
