believe me, you are not the only one!!!!. I know many people are waiting 18 months for an ultimate Parris. Sales after three weeks because the cue does'nt play well. Is made!! Perhaps à Nice hobby for the cue collectors.

Well one or two are probably doing this and I think we all know the main protagonist of this. However I really do believe most orders are for people who want a top quality cue and the fact that they hold their value better than any other cue maker around.

That is common sense really, anyone that has bought cues made to measure know its a gamble at the end of the day, so if you have a chance to get back what you paid and a nice tidy profit at the end of it, who can blame them.

Surely now , the majority of people who want to buy a cue and maybe have a few different makers in mind , will not look at purchasing a Parris cue due to the waiting time .

I looked at Parris plus a few others but went with Trevor White due to the waiting time and got lucky . Had my cue in 9 months ......almost like a pregnancy
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

For sure it will put off many but I still don't think it will have much of an affect in bringing down these waiting times, at least not for a few years and who knows whether JP will still be actively involved by then!

That was another reason why I ordered when I did, JP coming up to retirement age is surely not going to work beyond that as he has already made millions, I'd rather he still be involved in some capacity when my cue is made, rather than risk the quality deteriorating when he innevitably passes the business on to his other workers.

Also its not like other cue makers don't have long waiting times either. TW, MW, Robin Cook, Dave Coutts, all have closed books at the moment or at least very lengthy waiting times. Then you have people like Raymo who doesn't take custom orders, Craftsman also stopped this and don't seem to be holding stock of many cues now.

There is a real lack of option for cues now for those based in the UK unless you want something cheap off Ebay or pay a premium for a good cue, now is not a good time to want a new cue!

I have just put an order in with Tony Glover and he has quoted 4 months.

A Stamford series 1 is currently at 7 months

thanks for that, would be nice to have a thread stickied with cue maker options and waiting times so that anyone looking to buy a cue has the info at hand.

Both fairly reasonable considering, but still too long for some.

Deadly serious! I have ordered a cue from all the top makers in the last 12-18 months. Trevor white took 11 months,
Robin Cook was almost 13 months, tony glover took 5 months, crispian jones took just over 6 months, Stamford said 7-8 months for my series 1 so that should be ready in April. I did manage to get Dave Coutts to make me a cue in 6-7 weeks even though his waiting list but that's a long story
Even if it is 2 & a half or even 3 years I'm not that bothered as I've got some lovely cues already and I'm not in a major rush. I ordered a 1 piece ash ebony with an amboyna burr with a thick maple veneer, 57.5" 9.5mm 18oz 29.5mm butt diameter

Yeh I understand that Neil, as I've said I'm in no rush and people can have personal problems that effect our work, myself included. I try not to ever rush a cue maker as these things take time, also most cue makers are a month or 2 or 3 late from my experience
