Does anybody know how much it would cost to send a cue away to put a new ferrule on a cue? also is there any other thing than brass you can use as it seems to scratch if you so much as breathe on it?

You can get stainless steel or that plastic type the Americans seem to like... I wouldn't of thought it would be over 10/15 pound for a ferrule change...

Sorry forgot to add if your cue is jointed and you send the shaft only... it'd maybe cost around 6pound each way to post.

cheers for that, now to find someone who's not too busy to get it sorted as i accidentally scratched my brass ferrule earlier and it's annoying me lol

Not really deep cant even feel it with a finger nail and i did it with a stanley blade

I normally have micro mesh and use that to polish but iv miss laid the stuff. i usually polish and keep clean but im at a loss now i have a scratch lol ocd alert

I used to do this until you realise that you are wearing the ferrule down with every shine. Went through a couple of ferrules and lost length on my cue because of this. Now I just don't touch the ferrule. I just keep it clean by giving it a good buff with a soft cloth, that should stop the thing from tarnishing.

just use maguirres car wax. 5 quid a tin. Quarter matchhead of the stuff at a time. Lasts forever. Shines cue ferrule likebnew and prevents tarnishing as it provides a wax cover on your ferrule that prevents oxidisation. Does not wear down the ferrule as well.

Has anyone noticed some ferrules have a massive difference in hardness? I did a mates maximus cue's tip the other day and absolutely mullered the ferrule while trimming, it seemed a lot softer than usual, and took a lot of tidying up.

I am in south Africa mate. Maybe simeone there should tell him so. Surely he has 5 quids for a tin
