Jeezus I think we get the point Brian, you're unhappy with your cue and the service you received, point came across in the first post!
Any cue can bend and the most likely time theyre going to bend is just after theyre made. That's why some of the full time makers who make a living from it will have part made shafts ageing for months or years before finishing them off.
Add in the fact that it's spent a few days in a tube going through the postal system, possibly subject to extremes of temperature and being propped up at funny angles which aren't going to help.
I've bought plenty of straight cues which have arrived with tiny bends. Normally takes ten seconds to gently bend them back the other way. If it was a ridiculous bend I'm sure you'd have taken a photo to show the maker just how bad it was?
On the subject of uneven splices, You'll find very few genuine handmade cues with all splices dead level. I've got cues sat here made by famous old companies like Burroughes and Watts and there's a good 3/4" difference in height between highest and lowest splice tips. Doesn't affect the way it plays though.
If you want perfect splices, go to a budget importer who touches the splice tips up with black paint and a coat of varnish.

Cues can bend over night mate. Especially when they're new or in a tube. Neither, yourself or Jim have any idea how its been handled and stored by Parcelforce. The differences of temperature between the heat in the back of a van or the cold in a sorting office at night could easily have been enough to warp a cue. Ever left your cue in a freezing cold bar cellar or back of your car in the middle of summer? Doesn't mean to say it was made badly!
