  • Ash or Maple 1 piece or 3/4

Hi people after some advice getting a new cue made after 13 years of using my previous cue never used a maple cue any feedback welcome do they feel or play any different to ash cues? Also what would you recommend a 1 piece or a 3/4 joint. Anyone have cocobolo on their cue looks stunning is it difficult to keep looking shiny?

    Thanks

Might be worth doing a search as this has been discussed a few times and has some good info if you care to take your time to look.

I will say this though, if you have been using the same cue for 13 years you really won't want to change the spec of your cue too much and I certainly wouldn't advise a change to maple. They play completely different to each other, that is why you rarely see top players change to maple if they use ash or vice versa.

Cheers for advice yes from what I've read I think best to stick to ash. I was planning on using same spec just something maybe more decorative exotic wood splices
