Woods cues???

    Often when these cues are advertised it says hand spliced with brown ebony but when you see the picture of the cue the ebony on the butt looks black. If you rub down the butt with abrasives you will sand off the black stain to reveal the brown ebony. I have often found that the brown ebony splicing is not bad and you can end up with a decent cue though sometimes it can reveal uneven splicing and repaired splices which had faults in them as they were cheap wood.

        Yep as Andy said. I have found this also. Not unusual for the brown ebony butt to have had defects filled then sanded and a black dye over the top.

        Look great and play well but what lies under the laquer ? Some folk care and some folk are oblivious to it.
