He cleaned it , then played with it and it didn't get sticky . And there was a nice bit of flex in the cue at the top .Last edited by Neil Taperell; 6 January 2016, 11:13 PM.Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

Thanks Tetricky and Niel , I have always been a bit worried about trying to refinish a cue but I my have a go with this one, nothing to lose . I like my ash shafts to be as pale as possible, probably because I prefer maple, but you can see what you are getting with ash grain wise ,a dirty bit of maple is horrible.
Not dealt with them direct, I went on a website once a while back but there wasn't much on it. I don't know if you can contact them through eBay but I do know they do a custom cue so they must take orders.Last edited by itsnoteasy; 6 January 2016, 11:47 PM.This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Quick update, got myself some decent sandpaper and just cut back the finish, didn't take it all off as it felt nice anyway, had a knock with it in the club today, very nice indeed , much ,much more reaction than my maple cue, so much more I was struggling with position, it is also lighter so I may have been getting through the ball a bit faster, but I'm going to give it a few days and see how I get on with it. It didn't go sticky at all ,in well over two hours playing with it.This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Emperor say 'we select naturally dried wood to make the best cues'.
What could they mean? I wonder who could own this company.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the price range of your cue, there seems to be about three, sixty and under, sixty to one twenty and top of the range one sixty to two hundred. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I went and ordered one of these last night, I've bought 3 cues in the last year now, this is getting a bit silly but at least they're cheaper than guitars. I actually already have a grand cue, it's one of the ash only cues, just a couple of veneers on it and an ash splice, I don't really get on with it, but it's a nice enough cue.
This is the one I've ordered http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272035487660
