An confirm about victory and gunman as I had a word with Andy from Omin on Facebook.
He said Omin has not made any cue by that name before. It's from the Chinese manufacturer.

Bought it from www.greenbaize.com the specs are - Tip 9.5 mm, length 59″, weight 18 oz. I like it because of the extra length which suits me and the stiff shaft which gives a very solid hit. Mine is on the left -

good point, a friend of mine going 2 times a year to Thailand for his work. I heard it from him for the first time about these cues. Yesterday I saw someone in our club with Praram cue. was Praram Limited rang. I tried a couple of shots with the cue. I must say, absolutely perfect. responsif and a very solid and nice hit. I have played with maximus ultimate self (was my brother's).I fond this one better in terms of response and feeling.do you have personal experience with these cues? if you do'nt mind me asking that !!!!!!

Maximus Classic, Omin Classic, Master Pro Butt

recently i was noticed that 2 of the best cue makers (workers) have left a well know factory. and one of them makes maximus cues now. they are at a very good quality, have spokeb yo then and they say if the cue is not perfect it will not be sold due to the quality control. i have tryed myself some as they had a booth near where i was staying and i must say i did not had any better...

I meant you need to know where to get the genuine O'min from!

As someone who is not from Asia, it's not surprising to be confused with the model and whether they are fake or not.

And as for yr theory .... Ma lady has very small hands but she has a fatter butt
My cue's about 6 years old, maybe they've moved to a slimmer profile lately.

No the calipers weren't cheap ones off ebay, they were rather expensive. I've checked them against items of known dimensions and they are spot on.

Re my Theory - she might have small hands, but it was the size of your hands in relation to the butt you like.

You have hands like shovels, so you like your mrs & cue's to have a fatter butt

I think it has to do with your experience. No matter where you come from. you disagree????? . I mean, someone like Andrew (ADR 147) does not come from Asia. but I can assure you, he can see the difference. If you buy a cue from him is 100 percent genuine and not fake !!!!!!

Even Mr Omin is confused as to who's O'min cues are genuine and who's are copies

I have an Omin victory, I always thought these were made long before the Chinese even got into the market(they may have made some newer copies lately I don't know) there was a thread on here a while back about them so I did a little digging and went on the Omin site and got in contact with them to ask about these cues and I was told they were Omin cues but they were the base model, and were replaced by the Omin union, I asked when this was and they didn't reply, I don't know what to read into them not answering that question, but that's what happened. What I would say is if these are Chinese made, don't bother paying for a real one, as there is not a chance they can be better playing cues.

Couple of years roughly, but it was just before the mass explosion of the Chinese Omins on eBay,in those days if you typed Omin cues into eBay you would be lucky if a couple came up and they were three or four times the price of what the copies were when they came out. but the cue wasn't made a couple of years ago it was kind of old stock(again I'm kind of guessing on this) but Omin did tell me they made the the Victory, but it was replaced by the union, wish it had asked why, never thought of that at the time as I thought they would tell me in answer to my question, did they made that model,? but it's easy to forget English is not their first language ,so their answers are as brief as possible.
I remember on the old thread there were things to check, if it had a hologram sticker on the back, if the joints were stamped(I don't think the original copies stamped the joints, and they had like a bar code on the back not a hologram )
Also this cue is black ebony, I'm sure the copies are grey ebony dyed black but I could be wrong. In the end up even ADR says there is something funny going on between Omin and the Chinese makers and he knows a hell of a lot more than me and most of us, so I don't really know, but if it is a copy I would take another ten. Oh and it was oiled not varnished.
