OMG lol, have fun with that, was the tape holding the cue together ??? or used as a grip like a tennis racket or something lol

I have used "label off" remover which dissolves the glue
be careful though some makes are very quick acting and best to do little by little, and watch out when next to any wood-joints.
When I did a friends cue, his late dad's cue, it have loads of lead tape wrapped round the butt, it took me ages to get 90% of the glue off.
The cue went off to Andy Travis for a refurb so I did not get every last bit off, but could of with time.

ps, also baby wipes were good at removing the loosened bits

could be, I did not take any photos of when I first took of the tape it looked about the same as yours but was nearly all the way up to the splice-tips
of course you could use sandpaper/wirewool but it depends on who much you want to affect the wood.

Gary did you find these 2 Cues again today at your "Special Car Booty" or many moons ago? as it seems what ever Booty your going to your finding Cues every week....lol ....I have been all over country and cannot find 1 at most booty's and if i do they 2pc or club cues crap and now adays people realise what there worth especially if there antique dealers.

I think I need to start going to the Booty your going Gary!.....ha ha ha
