Cue SOLD. Luckily for the buyer, this wasn't one "which hadn't really gone to plan and he gave up on them and sold them unbadged "

I am sure the new owner will be most pleased with the cue, I got my wife a JB cue earlier this year and she is over the moon with it
      Up the TSF! :snooker:

Mr Butters has an absolute cracker on eBay at the min, under his account Joolsbrorunner, it really is a peach of a good looking cue.

Appoligies for that Bill, hadnt noticed it was your post to be honest. Wayne asked a question and I replied as I saw the overall picture. No offence intended to anyone and certianly no conspiracy lol. Glad the cue sold quickly for you.

He is not running a business he is just a retired guy who enjoys working with wood and is not in the least bothered if he sells them or not. I have nagged him for years to get badges but he is not interested. The green ones he is using just now are old ones which are to big and he spends ages grinding them down to fit. I yesterday sold what he described as the best cue he has ever made and it is indeed a cracker but no badge so to say the unbadged ones are rejects is rubbish.
I bow to your superior Knowledge Andy no offence intended. I did say that it was the impession that I got. If I made a fantastic cue I knew would sell for £110 but I also knew if I stuck a little round badge on it it could easily fetch £200 plus based on my reputation in the snooker fraternity, then I would be a fool not to put a badge on it wouldnt I?

We all know that a badged version of one of James cues will easily fetch a couple of hundred quid (and I am a big fan of these)
By selling the other unbadged ones cheaply on ebay gives the impression they are imperfect in some way, and tho I havnt seen nearly as many as yourself Andy I have seen a few that looked like they had been abandoned because he wasnt happy with them and just quickly sold off as cheapies.

Thats the IMPRESSION it gives. The last line of my post at least was accurate. If you have a badged version it will fetch around double the price if you resell it lol.

A fair post but I think the point is that it it set to put information forward from a position of knowledge rather than supposition. Especially negative information.

I must admit I thought he didn't badge them because they weren't his best work( I'm sure that was mentioned on here before, but I could well be wrong) Although I wouldn't say they were abandoned lol, which is a very harsh statement, just not exactly what JB had wanted. I thought this was his way of having grades of cues like a lot of the other makers.
