Neil, we know each other fairly well and you are an absolute gem of a guy. I always see you as someone who gives the benefit of the doubt to others, with a "live and let live" kind of attitude that I like a lot, but.... I'd have to disagree with your view on Leo's post. He clearly was having a pop at me personally. Read his initial post (number 20) again.
He directs the comment at me personally, following on from my post only 55 minutes previously. Now until that point in this thread, there had been no input whatsoever from him, nothing. Also, when I asked what response he was looking for from his comments, there was nothing coming back. He was surely able to open up and give some sort of reaction to that question, but no, there was silence.
The simple fact is that no, I am not great at responding to emails, am difficult to get on the phone, and, can and do sometimes disappoint people with their orders. I do regret that and will be trying to improve it from next year, when I am back to taking more work on. However, by the same token, there will be those who I have completed work for early, offered huge amounts of time and advice to, given discounts to if I feel I have overlooked something, or have made even the slightest error, and so on. Now, not in every case has this been true, but neither would it be true to say that my communication is woeful in every case. I would never argue though that it could, and really "should" be better.
To me personally, there is a reason behind what motivates Leo in making such a comment. What that motivation is, is open to debate of course, but I have my own views on it. He has no idea of how I work, what communication I have with EVERYONE I deal with, or any knowledge on what it's like to be me. On that basis, his comments are questionable at best, and plain spiteful at worst. Still, to me, it washes over me and means not a jot. His views could not be less important to me.
I have long ago let go of hanging onto what people think and say in respect of my work or how I go about it. Yes, some are so difficult to deal with that it drives me nuts, with constant questioning, changes of specs, designs, and so on and so on. It can get quite tiring to say the least and the feelings and attitudes from that has bled into how I feel about all of it, which has led me to where I am with how I feel about the work I do. However, I will say that the vast majority of people I have ever dealt with are fantastic, and I very much appreciate the space I am given to do what I do for them. I understand that people are different, and, that some are more clear on what they want, or more relaxed than others about spending money and waiting for an item to be produced. The problem is more to do with me and how I feel about it than the people I deal with.
Going back to the reason why I am posting this at all though, I have to say that if Leo had, or has, any issue with me, he should post his own thread and get a discussion going. I certainly have nothing to hide and would happily offer my honest views on it, as I do with anything else I ever post about here, which is rare these days.
Anyway, enough from me. I have no problem with Leo, or anyone else here.

I can also personally vouch for trevor's character and work. I agree that he is really hard to contact and his email response is horrible if he did respond. But he offers loads of genuine heartfelt advice and honesty on your dream cue and what exotic wood and shaft to get. I had a good experience with him years ago and when i felt that my butt was smaller than what i specified, trevor offered to reimburse me for all the charges incurrrd and redo it to my exact measurements if it was proven to be smaller. I rejected it as i felt it was a great shaft and the splicing was perfectly made. But i was very satisfied and extremely pleased with his character and kind gesture which really speaks volume of a great man. Thanks once again trevor and i hope you will answer my email or friendly call....haha

I don't post on here very often any more but reading this thread has prompted me to do so. Leo is obviously entitled to express his own opinion (this is an internet forum after all!) but if he hasn't actually placed an order with Trevor then I think his motives for goading him earlier in the thread should be questioned.
I've only had the pleasure of meeting him once (the day I picked up my cue) but I can vouch for the fact that Trevor is a top bloke. If you're not prepared to wait or need constant reassurance that the spec you've chosen is the most intelligent and imaginative choice he's ever encountered then go somewhere else. If you want the best quality cue for the most reasonable price then be patient...
As for his communication skills, I found them to be spot on. Obviously it helps if you make your mind up about exactly what spec you require before contacting him. At the end of the day, he doesn't advertise for work because he doesn't need to, that should tell you all you need to know...

As i have mentioned many of times already i have been dealing with Trevor for many many years from when he first started! and what i liked straight away was his straight talking and he didnt talk *ull Sh*t! a really Top Genuine Guy.
Some people dont like this as they dont like the Truth, but i am exactly the same and i tell people the Truth and My Opinion and i say it the way it is a .... Spade is a Spade End Of!
Trevor has given up alot of time for me and many others from Showing me and Dominic Dale Cues at the Brackla Snooker Club and also giving me alot of Knowledge about Cues etc which i took on board and pushed on and leant abit myself since.
If your after a Lovely well made Cue by One of the Best Cue Makers in the World if Not the Best in "My Opnion" and you can wait 8-12mths or so for it then my Advice would be Order from Trevor.
Gaz.

Do a lot of people chop and change their orders? I'm not on about a change of heart over what wood for a splice, but a change of cue spec. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
