Eight splice cue

Never seen an 8 spliced cue ( not 4 splices clear of another 4 ).

That's what I thought. You star with a machine spliced cue, for whatever reason it ends up too short, so machine splice over it.

I take it the shorter splices were the original ones ?

to me the shorter (or lower points) are the secondary splices.

Might have tried to clean it up a bit, especially the ferrule and shaped the tip. Would help sell it I think
