  • Shiny Ferrules

    Hello

How do the pro's keep their ferrules so shiny?

I've tried cleaning mine with ultra fine wire wool which works but after a frame or 2 it looks like a piece of old tarnished brass!

0000 wire wool should work fine.

yep, use that, or the finest sandpaper (like wet or dry [finest grade]) and then buff down with the other side of the sandpaper (smooth side)

i have use the 0000 wire wool as well as silver polishing cloth use for polishing brass instruments. i found that the latter's effect last longer. 0000 wire wool unless done well else might sand the shaft immediately under the ferrule by accident.

            hopes it helps

Agreed. I was assuming anyone who reads this has an IQ above 3 and will therefore already know that.

lol a fair point but a dangerous assumption.
