If you alter it down you would kill the value - I think you could use it for pool as it is anyway - Slippery slope when you start messing with cues -

If it was just worth say 100 quid then what the hell go for it but this cue is a nice one and like others say getting a cue you like that plays well at snooker for you is a hard task.

Either keep it for snooker and use it for pool of buy a cheap cue and whittle it down or just get a pool spec cue ready to go I would advise.

Does Tony do the weight stamps as well, or was it a doner shaft (as in donated, not kebab!)?
No one is listening until you make a mistake!

You can ply pool just as well with a tip of say 10mm as one of 8mm , it's all about tip contact on the cue ball for instance I can get just as much side with 10mm as my friend in France who is big into 8 ball and always trying to get me playing with 8.5mm , so my advice is if you have a cue you play well with keep it as it is and play both games with same cue , the amount of people I hear say they used to have a great cue and wish they had never sold it .

Maybe I could do but rather let someone else enjoy than get it altered and ruin a good cue

You definitely wouldn't get that much for it in pool specs so I agree. IMHO you can make some fantastic pool cues from common old cues which would only run you ~100 converted - don't have anything in at your specs atm but experiment would be my advice - for pool you can play with anything, I used to go to a friday knockout with county std players direct from playing 9 ball with my 9ball cue and get to the latter stages.

With the advice from here I wouldn't get the cue altered I'll try and play pool with the cue in its current specs but if it's not for me I will sell or swap the cue for a pool spec cue.
