i'd be careful with using it as a pool cue too, even in its current specs, I take my pool cue to league matches expecting it to get knocked around a bit!

If you can afford to keep it, I would just buy a separate cue with pool specs and use that for pool. As mentioned above you can use any cue, within reason for pool, but snooker cues I think are much more personal.

I once altered my snooker cue to pool specs at a large cost because I wasnt playing so much snooker, I had to sell it within months for quite a loss to buy a snooker cue again!!

Why would your cue get knocked about? My cue comes out of the case when I play my game and back in it when I'm done pool snooker or billiards!

pool cue - long afternoons in the pubs, lots of beer been drunk, winner stays on, my cue will not be in its case every time I get knocked off the table lol. And on a league match night I can happily lend it to team mates and not have to worry if it gets dinged or knocked over.
I personally do not see the need in having a £3-400 pool cue as most £100 cues will more then do the job in the correct spec

snooker cues - are a different matter, only I touch them !!!! and again as you say above, on match night it will be in my case if it is not in my hand.
