  • Re Weighting A Cue

    Alright everyone,

My mates got a North West Cue which he uses and he says the weights just gone in it. How much is it approx to get it fixed?

    cheers

I'd say to check the ferrule first, because this is almost always the reason for sudden strange noises from cues.

If it is the weight, then it depends on whether it's been done with lead or steel as to how straightforward it will be to resolve it. I cannot answer that, as I have no knowledge of what KM used to fit tocues for weighting purposes.

If it's lead, easy enough and shouldn't cost any more than £20 / £30 tops, plus postage.

I've had a few but they've all been naurally weighted with ebony, but mate had a 23oz cue that I'm pretty sure was weighted with lead from the joint down, and the joint was quite high. If it's rattling though should be easy enough to find the weight?
If you find a good cue doctor in Lancashire let me know, really struggling since Kev quit?

Is that the same guy who bought his old stock and equipment? Do you have contact details for him Jim?
