      I've been pondering a few weeks now as well as to weather to give the aurora grain filler a go, I bought a peradon comet off ebay and was in need of some good TLC so oiled it using Dave coutts oil but it needs a grain fill badly. From what I gather before applying the grain filler there's no need for sanding and just use some white spirits to clean the shaft and away you go although I could be wrong.

          you're right,,, I talked to this guy yesterday.
          No problem, he said, if the cue is finished in oil. But you have to make sure that the shaft is free of oil or wax or. ... before you do anything. Use alcohol 95 percent to clean the shaft , he said. Let's just hope he's right!!!!
