  • Buying a new cue in Scotland - help/advice required!

I've recently started playing in a snooker league at my local club in Scotland, after years away from playing. I'm quite enjoying it and want to get back to playing regularly, and hopefully improve a bit too!

My cue is alright, but I've never been 100 per cent with it (it was purchased for about £100 from Spencers in Stirling when I was younger and probably never a "perfect fit"). I feel it is too light, I'm forced to put more power into shots, which ultimately can lead to poor results.

I'm looking to buy a new cue and willing to spent between 150-250 on something semi-decent, but not entirely sure where to start. Don't want to just pick something out of a sports shop, or Argos. Are there any specialist shops north of the Border? I'm Glasgow based, but willing to travel if it means I can try out a cue or two before I buy.

I see there are loads of online shops but I'd much rather feel the cue in my hand before parting with cash.

Any advice would be great. Many thanks.

you could try Raymond Cohen from Exquisite Cues on the south side of Glasgow. Maybe he has a red plate for your budget but I think it would be at top end of your budget
