Labour costs, market expectations and the cost of living at the location of the seller / maker ?

Remember years ago the Porsche 914 used the same brake components as a Volkswagen van.

Both components were priced differently, because well, the market expected the price of a Porsche caliper to be more than for the van .

I have a custom made and they are more expensive, I have a maple which I thought I would try with ebony and then blue veneers and flame padouk.

I believe Thai average wages less than 15% of UK wage. I would think the raw materials would be much cheaper to purchase there as well, so the Thai cues are obviously going to be substantially cheaper to produce. In money terms a £100 Thai cue would be worth about £850 in equivalent UK wages.

Excellent quality cue , better than some UK made cues.

                              Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a thai cue as I currently use a £15 JJB cue I bought about 10 years ago haha.

what brand would use recommend for about £100?

Sorry for hijacking the thread but don't wanna start a new thread! :-)

                              Cheers
                              Craig

You will be very lucky if you can get a new one for that price.I've found the cheapest new ones start about£130.
