Don't think it's a problem if the cuemaker is upfront and tells people,I splice my own and customise, so be honest that's all its about.

No only a handful, he was honest about it so don't think he has a reason to lie about it

As long as you now and are happy with what you buying, there is no problem for me using a thai shaft and splicing it up

All the shafts are Thai. The handful of cues thing, were complete cues, re-badged.

Jason held his hands up and

                1 / Didn't do any more like this, &
2 / Changed his site to be more transparent about where the shafts were sourced from.

Others were silent about the whole thing. .

Many people who buy these £500+ cues wouldn't know the difference anyhow, they just look at the name on the badge.

Actually ash shafts from Thai or from Uk, they are all originally from North America............... Correct me if I'm wrong.
As long as the quality is good.

By the way, how to different shade the shaft from Thai again UK ?
I mean just the shaft ~~~~

I know, what I don't understand is how come , they re qualitatively so different. Perhaps because of difference of climate in UK and Thailand???

Same with these people who have a fixation on perfect even chevrons on cues when the reality is the supposedly best cuemakers in the world like wooldridge or Trevor White very rarely their cues turn up with these and it's the cheapy cues you see with perfect chevrons yet the chevron clan will dodge these because the name on the badge don't fit. Sod how the cue plays I want a well known badge

If "ready built shaft" the cue should be , customised , normally cheaper option .

If "taper the shaft from square wood block" should be called as - handmade .

Some people feel the cue is overprice if customised cue almost same price with handmade cues .
That's why old Hunt O'Byrne are high price compare to current Will Hunt .
Taper & feel of the shaft is so different .

Every chef/cue maker has special taste if cook by himself from start .
