so after JP, Master, Acuerate, Joe Davis and some other brands in between, i decided to get a Dunn.

its off season now in South Africa for 2 months and the best time to explore with a new cue.

Specs are 18oz, 9.5mm, 29mm & 58inch. nice clean straight chevrons, unbelievably well balanced.

Really enjoying it though, highest i made was 70 something, few 60's and some 50s in the 4 days i've owned it. not applying any pressure to compile a ton, i am sure it will come once i am used to it.
for a "less expensive" option, i think its a lovely cue. feedback and response is good, shaft is nice, so considering the price its really worth the money. i think i will give it a try the entire season and hopefully it will serve me well.

of course it isnt MW,TW,RO,DC type of craftsmanship and finish, but i am certain that it will offer great playability as it has proven in the past few days.

Anyway take care guys and have a lovely Christmas and welcoming new year.

i am not sure how to load a picture, but if someone can assist i will load a pic of the cue

Most half decent players can play with most cues slung at them regardless of name on the badge.

What I've seen personally is it's more of a hobby or as someone said the other day cue junkies will normally always favour £500+ cues not £300 cues as you mentioned, I could go and buy a wooldridge or JP ultimate or TW if I really wanted to but for me they won't make any difference whatsoever to my game.

Cues are a very personal thing..it always makes me laugh when someone says "buying this or that is a waste of money"..I have always played to a decent standard of snooker and used to use old rack cues I used to do up..the one time I went to Craftsman and bought a half decent cue my game come along another level, going from regular 70 breaks to regular 90's....finally getting a 99 break and not being able to get the magic 'ton'...Then I went on to order a Jason Owen cue to my specs and this was a real game changer for me..my shots were coming on leaps and bounds and the cue felt completely different to anything I had used previously, the break building came on and I started making regular 100's...Now I use a Trevor White to my specs and my game is probably the best it's been since I started playing the game 27 years ago..at 41 I am playing the best snooker of my life and I believe a lot of this is down to the quality of the cue..it takes any doubt away from your game knowing all the shots you play are realistically possible....it's like playing golf with some old 70's bladed irons..you will hit one in ten good shots and blame the clubs for being 'rubbish'...get some clubs/cue that suits you and it can only be good for your game...

Are you saying that you are aiming the ball completely different now with your TW cue then when you had your craftsman cue, because I can't possibly see how you would miss balls with your craftsman cue yet pot balls with your TW cue. Because if you're aiming correctly the balls will go in whatever cue you use

I think it's more the reaction he gets from the shots and the feel he gets with the cue, and just the confidence the cue gave him, rather than the technical side of things Leo, let's face it if Karlos was making seventy breaks anyway, his basics must have been pretty good to begin with. Just the way I read the post.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

This all comes down to the fact that all cues play differently...some cues no matter how hard you try will not react how you want them to...

Well, as he uses John Parris Ultimate's (the most expensive cues on the market) I would say he's picky

Think you'll find you could adapt very quick if you wanted to if the specs were the same.

Read my cue contest thread... lol!

There's more to a cue than matching up specs

I think when ROS got his current cue if memory serves JP gave him choice of 6 prepared shafts and 3 cues were made (Fedia's sold 11 of those 3 )

Ronnie took his time selecting the right one for him...

He didn't just say, I can play with anything.
