  • O‘min or Phoenix???

I have a choice to make between a Phoenix Unity machine spliced cue or an O'min machine spliced cue. They are both of similar specs and price any help would be appreciated guys. The O'min is a genuine Thai made one not a Chinese fake.

    Thanks

I've always thought O'min were underrated.

    I'd go with them.

        O‘min or Phoenix???

I dont think it will make a big difference. All original Omin cues are very solid players. The maschine spliced Phoenix Cue i had was very good also.

Have you had a hit with either of them?

I love my O'Min hand spliced cue but never tried a Phoenix cue.

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
            I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Phoenix attention to details, wood selection and customer service is 1st class.

I have bought a couple of hand spliced O'min cues in the last few months for friends and they have been superb for the money. I have a hand spliced classic too which is very nice.

I have both and they are excellent Cues.

Pretty hard to split them but if i had to choose over my 2 i would take the Phoenix only because i have had higher scores with it and it was the first decent Cue i had purchased.

I love them both both though and i am splitting hairs separating them.
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???

The thing I notice about O'min is that they tend to be quite light for players on club tables. A lot of the ready made cues weigh around 17.25oz which is quite light whereas Phoenix cues tend to have a good weight range, from lightest around 17.75oz right up to 19.25oz. As most players play on heavy duty slow cloths I think that is a big thing to take into consideration when choosing a cue.
