Hey guys merry Christmas all just wondering what causes a cue to feel light at the front end almost like it's hard to keep it on the bridge and jumps off my bridge on various shots at even slow speeds? I know it's to do with balance just not sure what causes it.

Normal cues without a weight normally weigh anywhere between 12-15oz, dependent on the density of the ash used. Ideally the cue maker will select ash that has a good weight to it so when the cue is weighted up to the customers spec it will balance ideally at around 16-18" from the butt end.
Sometimes there will be around 4-5 oz worth of weighted material that is drilled into the butt end to get the cue at the right weight but the more weight you use the higher chance that the cue will be back heavy and obviously very light on the bridge hand. That is why you get cues like this, personally I think they are best avoided as it makes certain shots impossible to play.
Merry xmas to all.

Because of my bridge arm not being able to bend I have a very compact style. Probably should have a cue made at about 55" that would push the balance more towards the tip.
