What finish do mastercue use

Happy 2015 guys just bought myself a mastercue pyragon but not too keen on the finish of the butt it's like wax or varnish doesn't feel right in the hand almost plastic like. Just wondering if I could sand it down a bit and oil it or should I leave it. Cheers

I wouldn't use sandpaper, i would try using wire wool, you can make it a lot better that way with minimal risk

0000 wire wool or 3000 grit wet n dry
