Mui medium for me used to use phoenix medium but switched month ago now.
These are tips phoenix cues come with now and for me they are very accurate
with lots of reaction the new benchmark for laminated tips for me. They also
hold chalk just like a pressed tip which is also a bonus. These are a must try
for anyone wanting to try a new tip not cheap but worthy of the price.

Having always used Elks, I tried a Talisman Medium but found it too hard. Haven't tried a Talisman Soft but understand that they are similar feel to getting a good Elk. That said I currently have a Mike Wooldridge Supatip on my cue and whilst it is firm, it hasn't gone out of shape at all and it takes chalk well, only had it on two weeks.
I had a discussion about tips with Steve Davis recently at an exhibition and he said he had an Elk on his cue but has also used a Moori. They are 14mm so need to be cut to suit your ferrule size. Steve also said he has cut one in two [horizontally] and got two tips out of one as they are quite 'tall'. Food for thought!Supporting grassroots snooker in Essex, England

For years I have used pressed tips; Elkmaster, Elkmaster Special (nothing special really), Brunswick Blue Diamond (in the old days - they were brill), Buffalo Blue Diamond Plus, Pool Baron.
As many have said Elk and BBD+ can be inconsistent across a box and frustrating to find a good one.
When I first got the DS cue it had a laminate tip which was like rock so that was removed for a pressed tip (Elk which was good for a couple of years), now after the range of pressed tip above (probably forgot one or two in the list above) I have now tried an ADR Black Soft laminate tip (no tan soft available at that time) and for the past 2 months it has settled in very nicely and looks to be staying on for the foreseeable futureUp the TSF! :snooker:

Play with Blue Diamond myself. Tried Elks but they were a little too soft for my liking. Experimented with Buffalo Diamonds after reading a few positives reviews on here...the first 2 were brilliant, possibly the best tips I'd ever played with. Unfortunately i tried a few since then and they seemed to be much harder than the ones I'd previously used. Went back to Blue Diamonds as I've pretty much grown up with these on the end of my cue. Laminated have never interested me due to the common consensus that they are harder and don't hold chalk as well
