  • Help on a repair

    Hi guys

The joint on my mini butt fell out today . I don't think I can just glue it straight back in because the hole in the mini butt is larger than the join by around 1mm . Should the joint be wrapped in something before being glued back in to make a tighter fit ?

Also which glue Is best to use . I have used loctite gel glue on a 1/2 jointed cue joint before which worked perfect but is there something better to use ?

    Thanks

Loctite wood glue, green bottle red lid, will fill the gap, just wipe off the excess.

Personally I like to use epoxy glue. If you're worried the hole is too large for the joint you can use something like milliput

I used super glue on my first cue, the joint came lose , and it played with a pingy noise after that, it got on my nerves so much I gave it away to a young lad in the club who didn't have a cue.
Would it be possible to clean it right out ,glue a dowel in and just re drill the hole to the right size?
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

super glue should only be used for surface repair on the butt

The hole is still has the glue in it which is a few mm thick so I could drill that out to original size and then re glue it with milliput as suggested

Just looked up that milliput, it looks just the job, might have saved me buying another cue
