I don't think they would have released these snooker cues unless they were confident about their performance as well.

I was wondering about the same thing, Raymo, as I didn't think any of their pool shafts were laminated. If anyone has resources to produce them I imagine it would be Mezz but they might use external suppliers. Predator and Deroo use them as well, and Deroo makes both 3/4 and 1/2 jointed cues. I also know that sellers of cue making supplies in the U.S offer them for pool cues. Chappy, I live in Brisbane and am just another pratt obsessed with cues (see post count). I don't have any connection with Sharpsnooker or Mezz. I just don't agree with someone casting a new and interesting product in a bad light simply because they haven't seen one yet. If you live in Melbourne perhaps you can make it to Bendigo this year and try one.
well,, That is a nice name!!!lol,,, hahahaha,,,,,
Yes, Kevin D makes indeed cues with laminated shaft. This shaft are not 100 percent with maple laminated!! Predator uses this kind of shafts just for the pool cues. Predator has never made a snooker cue. There are many cuemakers like O'min or a few UK cue makers, who making cues with Laminated shaft. These shafts are not 100 percent with maple laminated!! (I've tried them btw,,,!! and they are great players ). You can also see the black arws on these shafts. Look at the web site of David Coutts for pro line shafts! so, as I said,, Mez is the first one who has made snooker cues with this shafts !!
Anyway,, as long as you don't have tried them, you never know how these cues playing.
As for the balance, Changing balance is not a good idea, imo. !! who knows, maybe it works!!!

Well, if someone from Mezz is reading these posts then I would like to be the first to volunteer my services to try out and test one of their snooker cues. I will even offer to either buy the cue at their retain price when I'm finished testing or pay for the return shipping.

If you send me a cue it should be above 18oz, 9.3mm ferrule, 3/4 joint, balance around 17", butt diameter at 28.5mm. PM me for the shipping address.

Sorry, not sure how I made that mistake!! haha.. The weight adjustment is in the united joint positioned at 16" and I think the reason for that is to prevent the weight adjustment messing with the balance too much. Pretty sure Mezz don't do this for pool cues but a lot of manufacturers have the weight adjustment at the base of the butt, and this always changes the balance drastically because it's much further away from the balance point.

And the DeRoo website has had a picture for years showing the cross-section of two laminated shafts. One is 100% ash and the other 100% maple each made from 4 'pie-pieces'. Dufferin also offer pie-piece laminated shafts (8 pieces) on a couple of their snooker cues in 100% maple or 100% ash. I don't know how long they've been doing this though.
And the Riley Elegance cue has been available with a pie-piece laminated shaft for more than a year as well I think. The shafts for Dufferin and Riley are both called L8.

I own a Mezz pool cue and it plays very well. The maple is clean, even taper and the joints are very snug. Would like that joint on my snooker cue.

Hope fellow members can post their field reports on this new product soon.

Well there are 2 reviews but still better than nothing
You cannot improve your game if you don't have a cue and snooker table

Do you mean for instance the 6 piece laminated maple shaft ? Which for good players especially snooker is more likely to harm your game than improve it.

Which i can imagine would be so stiff you wouldnt know you even hit a ball, would feel like playing american 9 ball snooker. No thanks

That Mezz has all the features, are certainly great ?? what do I know? Hence the question in the first place. Is it worth 900 dollars ?? Hence the question in the first place. Then it is inevitable that some will be opinions about price, quality, playability, but let's keep it constructive criticism if you have one.

I'll tell you honestly what I think about the Mezz and I mean Mezz Cues American Pool. BEST IN THE WORLD. (now I hope someone from Mezz sees this and is sponsoring me with a snooker cue:-) I really want one. but not for $ 900

All this talk about Mezz favors only mezz in the end. Even if you talk **** about them, or good about them.

Maybe we should end this thread, because no one seems to have any experience of these cues.

                    Excuse my bad English.
Or wait. Why should I pardon me, you ought to learn better Swedish. Large parts of England was actually Swedish one time:-)

There you go !! now a new discussion started:-)

No, for snooker players (much, much harder game than 9-ball) We dont want a 6 pie laminated shaft, or changeable weights, this is for 9 ball players who cant work out why the missed that 1 shot after sinking a million balls in a row. Learn to be better by getting to know how to use your talent with your consistent equipment.

We shouldnt end this thread as you really want because mezz are trying to palm off expensive snooker cues that are probably no better than a rack cue, hey if you want an expensive cue buy one from where they make the best - england

There, if that helps mezz sell cues then your plan has worked !

interesting thread!! Well, nothing I can say about these cues, because I have'nt tried them. As I see on the internet, these cues ( som of them ) are made of Laminated shaft, (100 percent maple laminated). That surprises me.
Predator was going to make snooker cues a few years ago. These cues would be made of Same quality as Z shaft. (Z shaft is used in pool cues). however, that plan was later cancelled . So, how did Mez done this??? I do'nt know. Laminated shaft is not cheap. Especially Titanium (if they use that for the joint). Anyway,,Maybe a bit too expensive????? !!!!!
As for the balance ,, It looks like you can change the balance of the cue. Is the first time I hear such a thing. never heard of it !!!
But , i would love to try one of these cues !! just Curious how does he plays !!
Would have been really nice to see him knock a few balls around with it, as they say actions speak louder than words.
Does anyone know what what he means by the cue is the strongest he has ever seen?
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I got the chance to try one of these Mezz cues, tbh.
I would'nt use it for snooker . Too stiff with no density.
but , that's just me lol.

Mezz cues & shafts for pool are great, I played little bit with a WX700 shaft and it's really awesome. Now, snooker is a different thing but I would love to try that snooker cue also, it could be a disaster but also, knowing their pool quality, it could easily be something very good.
